Come celebrate with us our 2 year anniversary of Smell Lab Berlin! We'll have a retrospective including some surprises (we found some smells from the past)! Please bring a smell to share, in a sealed unmarked glass container - we make a game together... And bring, if you like, some snacks with you, we will do too!

The Smell Lab is a monthly meeting space open for everybody who is interested in experimenting around the sense of smell.

Newcomers are welcome to join.

VORSPIEL Smell Lab Community Show Case

It is early New Year; it is time for the Smell Lab community showcase. Come by with a playful mood and we will discover how fun-loving smells can be!

Four different installations, taking game shape, will be on display: memory, storytelling, match&play and many more.

During the last Smell Lab meet up (20th December) we had a wonderful session were we suggested possible game themes in order to team up in groups so we can make those games happen. During the Smell Lab #17 we will continue working and designing our games!

During this session we are going to get our hands dirty! We will work on the creation of a smell game. First, we will quickly share some examples (please if you know of any olfactory games examples bring yours or tell us about it) to later team up in groups. Each group will focus on a different aspect of the sense of smell (memory, movement, training, navigation...) and we will start developing our own games on spot.

Join our very special next Smell Lab 15!

Dr. Roberto I. Melendez will give a lecture on the Role of the Olfactory System in Synaptic Plasticity and Memory Formation.

SPEKTRUM's communities present an afternoon of workshops with MadeByUs, Smell Lab and Sonic Code Sessions sharing insights and skills of their research and practice. Come along and get to know more about what is going on in the different communities. There will be workshops on:

- 3D printing (MadeByUs)
- Scent distillation (Smell Lab)
- Networked sound (Sonic Code Sessions)

We will start the session with a sound / scent experiment. How does sound affect our olfactory perception? Are different sounds changing how do we perceive a scent? The students that followed an olfactory project week course will show us what have they been up to and we will discus ideas and projects together.

Community session of the Smell Lab.

During this session Ramina Puzicha will present us her project per se, a natural cosmetics brand inspired in nature. We will smell some of her product and we will have the possibility of learning how are they made.
